Overview
Saddle up for some good ol’ fashioned fun as you ride along the ridges and valleys of this fourth-generation dude and guest ranch. Your hosts have proudly maintained and preserved their ranchland in the beautiful, timbered Selkirk and Cabinet Mountains. Ride through grazing cattle or sneak a peek at deer, bear, and other wildlife in their native surroundings. Watch a Red-tailed Hawk soar overhead and listen to the song of the birds welcoming you to a new day.
Horseback riding is the main activity on the ranch. The riding program includes lessons in the arena and daily rides. A typical day will include a two-hour ride in the morning and again in the afternoon. Or perhaps a full-day ride with lunch at a beautiful waterfall, a great place to swim and play. Trail rides feature outstanding views of Lake Pend Oreille as well as the Cabinet and Selkirk Mountains.
Guests at the ranch enjoy the beauty and seclusion of the country with the conveniences of being only 16 miles from Sandpoint, the nearby small country town. Sandpoint sits on the shores of the spectacular Lake Pend Oreille, one of the largest fresh water lakes in the United States. The lake itself provides many unique shopping opportunities and points of interest in and around the area. In Sandpoint you are also only ten miles from Hidden Lakes Golf Course.
As a blanket of white transforms North Idaho, guests enjoy horse drawn sleigh rides concluding with hot drinks and fresh popped popcorn in front of a crackling fire. Guests also enjoy cross-country skiing and downhill sledding on the ranch. If downhill skiing is more your speed they are only 27 miles from Schweitzer ski area.
