Tsyl-os Park Lodge’s Riding Vacation is for you! Spending your days riding in the stunning Chilko Valley along rivers and lakes, to the tops of mountains and through open meadows, you will love the riding. This trip caters to adults who love to ride and still want the comforts of home.

All riding groups are kept small with riders usually being intermediate to advance allowing you to enjoy a faster riding pace with great canters through the forest and meadows. Horses are healthy, strong and responsive. They are chosen for the disposition and endurance. With a herd of 36 and growing, the ranch will be able to match you with a horse that best meets your riding ability and personality.

The Area
Seldom visited and largely untouched, the Chilcotin is like a rare gem. Few people have discovered it, but once discovered never forgotten. There are very few areas in the world as beautiful to explore. It has taken Mother Nature millions of years to carve out the jagged glacial peaks of the Chilko Mountains, creating hidden valleys to explore, waterfalls and roaring creeks, and sweet springs to drink. Topping it off, she sprinkled the land with sweet grasses and multicolored flowers, and inhabited it with the might Grizzly Bear, Mountain Goat, Moose, Black Bear, Mule Deer and soaring Eagle. She filled her rivers and lakes with thousands of fish and the sky with millions of stars.

Since 1957, the McLean family has provided first-class guiding services at Chilko Lake and the surrounding area. The friendly cozy atmosphere at the lodge and on the trail is a result of Karen McLean and her guides. Whether you are in the mountains, horseback riding along the river or fly fishing a secluded shelf, your knowledgeable capable guides are there for you.
