| Dining |
Meals take place in a variety of locations... saddle bag lunch on the trail (riverside!); breakfast is always an experience as guests learn how to roll their own oats and grind their own grain... just the way the cowboys used to prepare meals on the cattle trail!; Enjoy some great Southern Cookin' for dinner at the old Johhson Dairy Farm in Cookie Jar Cafe... over an open campfire back at the ranch.

National Horse Camp
The ranch's exclusive National Horse Camp, a one or two-week Resident Horse Camp, is designed for new beginners to intermediate riders ages 8-10 and 11-15. This is a week (or two) of horse power your kids will never forget! With only eight campers allowed per session, parents can rest at ease and know that each child will receive all of the personal attention they need during their stay at A Tennessee Guest Ranch. Each student is assigned their very own experienced ranch horse at check-in, who will become their faithful companion for the duration of their stay!
Young equestrians at A Tennessee Guest Ranch learn about horses from the ground up! The ranch prides themselves in an extremely educational and safely structured environment. During this incredible program each young equestrian will acquire an enormous "in depth" knowledge of horses through pre-veterinarian course programs included in each National Horse Camp. Students even learn to give shots, take blood, work with microscopes in the small equine lab, and so much more! Professional western and English lessons, along with an amazing amount of time on the trail are part of the horse power at National Horse Camp! br>
Each day students will pack their saddlebags with lunch or dinner and hit the trail! Don't forget to pack your Bibles in those saddle bags, because time is alwys made for Bible study on the trail! During this daily Bible study on the trail, young equestrians learn what the Bible has to say about horses! Bareback riding through the river tops off a perfect week at National Horse Camp!
The National Horse Camp is only for those who want to eat, sleep and breath horses every minute of the day!

A Stay at the Guest Ranch: Upon check in at 5:00pm on your arrival day, each guest receives their very own ranch horse. After meeting and greeting your new "horsey companions" with a few carrots and apples, getting settled into your horsey-themed room, it's time for your first roping lesson! Don't worry, the first one is from the ground, without your horse! Afterwards, cool off with a tall glass of southern ice tea while soaking in the gorgeous view of the Sequatchie Valley from the back deck.
Now it's time for a leisurely home-cooked country dinner at one of Sequatchie Valley's quaint little family owned restaurants, just five minutes up the valley. Back at the ranch, there’s time for a little outdoor star gazing while listening for the call of the coyotes in the valley before hitting the hay, or relax and enjoy a movie on the ranch big screen ... Horsey movies only playing of course!
Rise and Shine... before you know it, it’s breakfast time! Oh no, not for you! The horses eat first at the ranch, so keep your boots by the bed! After the horses are fed enjoy your breakfast in the Biblical-themed dining room or on the back deck. Now it's time to hit the trail! Well ... almost! Your day full of equestrian activities begins with horsemanship training ... grooming, horse safety, basic horse care, parts of the horse ... and don't forget to clean the hooves!
Now it's time to saddle up, followed by a fun riding lesson in the ring. Enjoy some great family games on horseback to develop or improve the skills your family will need on the trail! Beginners who have never been on a horse before, through novice riders with experience, will all enjoy this riding lesson. After the lesson, it's water break time for the horses and the guests. Don't forget to pack your saddle bags and canteens. It's time to hit the trail and put your new found horsemanship skills to work in the wide open spaces! After riding through a picturesque country setting in the beautiful Sequatchie Valley, enjoy lunch on the trail. While the horses take a break in the shade don't forget to unpack your bible from your saddlebags so you can join in on a short Inductive Bible Study - "What the Bible Has to Say About Horses".
Well, mount up cowboys (and cowgirls) and move 'em out! ... it’s time to hit the trail again and start working your way home! Watch out for those cows! Be sure to keep your eye out for the "fake bull horns" on the trail. If you rope the real ones you may get more BULL than you intended! No, you’re not quite done yet cowpokes ... you’ve still got to unsaddle your horse, clean your saddle and bridle, and hose him down! Whoa! Don’t forget to get one more picture of your most memorable family vacation ever as you kiss your favorite ranch horse goodbye! Or don't say goodbye after just one day. Book up to three consecutive ranch packages. Helmets are provided and required for all riders.
If riding horses is not for you, but you love the atmosphere anyway, then they still have something for you: Sleeping accommodations and breakfast for two. Enjoy one of the other local activities such as a peaceful afternoon canoeing down the Sequatchie River, or a round of golf with a terrific view. Enjoy lunch in the quaint little historic town of Pikeville or visit the historic Coke Ovens sight and museum where mountain coal was converted into industrial coke. Take a trip to Fall Creek Falls State Park or head to the world famous Tennessee Aquarium and enjoy tons of Chattanooga fun!
Private riding lessons for your child can be added to your vacation.
