Overview
Operating as a dude and guest ranch since 1907, Paradise Guest Ranch in Wyoming remains dedicated to the western tradition of offering guests a ranch vacation with attentive hospitality, rustic elegance and exciting outdoor adventure. All this is included in a setting of unparalleled scenic beauty. Nestled in a scenic mountain meadow, at the junction of meandering trout streams and surrounded by over a million acres of The Bighorn Forest, the riding, fly-fishing and hiking opportunities abound. With this kind of elbow room, don't expect to see the same trail twice.
If you get up early enough, you'll see the ranch’s string of horses, their nostrils steaming as they thunder down from high mountain meadows to the ranch corrals. The ranch wranglers will custom-fit you to a horse that best matches your riding ability. Next you’re ready to spend an afternoon team penning steers, or you can take off with your group on a lively half-day lope. All-day lunch rides have become the tradition at Paradise. Ride to a high mountain lake or stream for spectacular fishing and scenery or discover the enchantment of The Bighorn Mountains on an all-day ride through Red Canyon. Riding instruction is available in their flexible riding program.
For guests that enjoy the active lifestyle, there exists but one problem - there are simply not enough hours in the day. Wander over a wildflower-strewn mountain mesa. Fly-cast out to trout that have not seen another fly all summer. Or take an excursion to the Red Rock Canyons of the legendary Hole in the Wall Country, home of the infamous Johnson County Cattle Wars and hideout for Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. If you like getting up close and personal with nature in a spectacular setting you must try one of the high country pack trips. The Paradise mules haul all your gear up through the Cloud Peak Wilderness and into Paradise Ranch’s high camp at Frying Pan Lake. While at camp enjoy blue ribbon fishing, or hike and day ride to your hearts content.
Paradise Ranch cabins are well equipped and beautifully appointed with fireplaces, kitchenettes, western art and outdoor porches with mountain meadow views. Nestled between the cabins, the ranch’s dining hall offers three hearty meals a day with a gourmet flair. Choose from a unique array of fine California wines and pair your selection with dinner on gourmet night. You'll love the French Creek Saloon, which features a weekly western fashion show, talent show, square dance and is the perfect place to relax and review the day with family and friends.
