Overview
AAA 4-Diamond Superior Rating
The Brand of Western Hospitality Saddle-up. Hit the trail. Head ‘em out. The best way to see the Rocky Mountains is by horseback riding. There are more than 26,000 acres of the Pike National Forest here for you to explore. Well-marked trails follow old logging roads, criss-cross wooded ridge tops and wind through strands of shimmering aspens. You'll feel at home in the saddle in no time as Lost Valley’s wranglers custom-fit you with a saddle and mount especially selected from their remuda of 140 ranch raised and trained quarter horses. Every age and riding ability is carefully accommodated. With instruction for new riders and personal attention for all, you'll ride with new confidence and skill.
Lope through color-splashed meadows of wildflowers. Follow deer and elk trails up into heavy timber. Round up stray cattle from the ranch’s own herd. Take a break beside cool clear mountain streams. For the more adventurous, Lost Valley Ranch offers special horsemanship training weeks and cross-county cattle drives during the spring and fall.
Spirited. Wholesome. Unforgettable. At Lost Valley Ranch, they’re committed to make your ranch vacation the best ever. All your family members have the opportunity to do what they want - even if that is doing nothing at all! That’s why they arrange the children’s activities for different ages. Staff that joins your kids in horseback riding, swimming, hiking, picnics, fishing and crafts supervise each group. Teens are treated as young adults and have evening as well as daytime programs. You won't hear any complaints!
That leaves you with time…precious time. You might cast a fly on Goose Creek, well stocked with fighting rainbow trout. Don't know how? Lost Valley can arrange for you to take a fly-fishing school from Orvis instructors. You can also explore the forest on one of Lost Valley’s many hiking trails, play tennis, bask in the sun’s warmth by the heated pool, soak in the hot tub, read by a stream, or just watch the hummingbirds stay busy while you don't.
Friendly. Gracious. Relaxed. The Fosters and their handpicked staff of collegians provide a warm welcome. Their friendly smiles and enthusiastic service set the tone for their “Brand of Western Hospitality” for you and your family. They will keep your cozy and comfortable cabin suites immaculately serviced with many of the niceties of home. They also carefully prepare Foster family recipes from scratch that are healthy, hearty and delicious. You will soon realize why they have received the AAA 4-Diamond Superior Rating every year since it has been issued.
Lost Valley is a ranch that believes in old-fashioned hospitality and welcomes a few friends to share a lifestyle that’s far too rare these days.
