Overview
Since 1956, Lake Mancos Ranch has been operated as a family oriented guest ranch. Located in the majestic San Juan National Forest, there are beautiful mountain vistas and spectacular trail rides in every direction. In true southwestern tradition they offer down-home hospitality and a feeling of warmth that will stay with you the entire visit.
From Lake Mancos Ranch, located at 8,000 feet looking out on the La Plata Range of the San Juan Mountains, you can ride the most beautiful horse trails in Colorado. Follow a different trail each day, enjoying the splendor of this national forest. Drink in the crisp mountain air as you wind your way along pine-topped ridges beneath a clear blue sky, or ride your way through aspen forests by sparkling streams. You will feel invigorated yet rested.
Along with horseback riding, other activities include fishing, hiking, biking, playing ping-pong, basketball, volleyball, horseshoes, archery and other games. Nearby attractions including Mesa Verde National Park, river rafting down the Animas River, or exploring Monument Valley.
With a family atmosphere there is plenty for children to do. The highly trained and personable counselors lead the kids in a host of activities. Their program balances independent activities with quality family time making sure that everyone experiences fun and togetherness.
During the fall Adults Only season, Lake Mancos Ranch offers a variety of activities besides horseback riding, including star gazing and many other activities.
