Overview
Remember when life was simpler? It still is at the Idaho Rocky Mountain Ranch. The Idaho Rocky Mountain Ranch is the real thing, and you’ll feel it as soon as you step onto the famous front porch of the main lodge and witness an amazing panoramic view of the Sawtooth Mountains. The living history of the Old West mingles with the solitude and peace of this 1,000-acre ranch, where there are no phones, televisions, or radios in guest accommodations to interfere with your experience. With a maximum capacity of 50 guests, you’ll have ample space and time to explore, visit, and plan a unique vacation with the helpful staff that comes here year after year for the same reasons you will.
The ranch remains as it was over 70 years ago – a family hideaway with the original log and hickory furniture and china. The cabins and lodge rooms are well appointed with quilted beds, private baths with stone showers, or deep relaxing bathtubs. Each cabin also has a unique fireplace. Daily maid service enhances your relaxation.
A mouthwatering, homemade, hot and cold breakfast awaits you in the morning. Fine dining meets country cuisine at night in the lodge dining room, complemented by an excellent wine list, and local musicians exploring the history and culture of the area through their music. Dinners are five-course feasts, including appetizer, soup, salad, choice of entrée and dessert. During the week, you’ll be treated to a wagon ride with Dutch oven delights and an outdoor barbecue.
The ranch offers freedom and a relaxed atmosphere. Let the staff help plan your adventures on the ranch and into the surrounding wilderness areas. The ranch is located in the heart of one of the country's premier hiking spots. Other recreational possibilities include mountain biking, horseback riding, whitewater rafting, and fly fishing. If relaxing is what you have in mind, enjoy a book or sunset on the front porch, or soak in the natural hot springs pool on the banks of the Salmon River.
New Owners In 2005 the ranch was purchased by Courtney and Steve Kapp, Diana Kapp and David Singer, who continue to honor the ranch’s tradtion of fine meals, and warm Idaho hospitality in the ranch’s relaxed, congenial atmosphere. They are committed to historic integrity and preservation as they upgrade facilities to enhance the guests’ experience of the ranch.
Exceptional service, an experienced and dedicated staff, and a magical, authentic environment are waiting for you in one of Idaho’s oldest and finest guest ranches.
