The ranch is run by four generations of the Johnson family, and they personally guarantee you that Western experience you’re looking for. Their warm southern hospitality is almost addicting, with many families and groups returning year after year. You will enjoy canoeing in the early spring down the awe-inspiring Buffalo National River, with high bluffs, tall trees, and a variety of wildlife resulting in a peaceful, isolated feeling. Rock climbing is popular in the fall and winter, when you can witness the fall foliage, scale large cliffs and peer at breathtaking terrain that seems endless. Of course, there’s nothing like horseback rides where you can explore the many caves, springs and clear mountain streams. “Your” horse will be chosen with your particular needs in mind, so you can comfortably enjoy each scenic ride. There are lots of photo opportunities and the chance to see some of the many animals that inhabit the ranch, such as deer, turkey, and squirrel. Perhaps you many even want to go for a hike along one of the many trails or take an afternoon for some catch and release fishing in the well-stocked pond. The comfortable, rustic log cabins have wide porches with rocking chairs that encourage “settin” when you aren't out and about. You can cozy up to the fire if needed or cool off in the pool in the summer. Relax your sore muscles in the hot tub. Best yet, just enjoy yourself in the quiet of the ranch and let someone else cook delicious “down-home” meals.
