Overview
It’s hard to imagine a more beautiful or enticing place than Clear Creek Guest Ranch. Nestled in a quiet valley of the Blue Ridge Mountains at an elevation of 3,000 feet, the ranch is surrounded by the Pisgah National Forest. It’s just off the famous Blue Ridge Parkway and near Mount Mitchell, the highest point east of the Rockies.
The dream of CCR was born when Rex and Aileen Frederick went out west to visit their two sons who were working on dude ranches one summer while they were in college. They decided that a ranch east of the Mississippi would offer opportunities to people who didn't want to travel so far out west, or who wanted the option of staying less than a week. After a two-year search, they found the perfect location in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, and construction began in June of 1995, and the ranch opened in May of 1996. The response has been incredible, and many families have visited five or six times in the five years that the ranch has been open. As well as excellent food and comfortable quarters, you will find a welcoming, relaxed environment and one of the most beautiful views in all of North Carolina.
You will find space to roam in the clean, clear mountain air, and things to do and see that will entertain every member of the family. The activities at the ranch are geared to the great outdoors. Horseback riding, hiking, trout fishing, golfing, whitewater rafting, swimming and numerous cookouts are all just a part of what you'll enjoy in the friendly, informal atmosphere of Clear Creek Ranch.
The pace is slowed down or at a dead stop. Clear Creek Ranch offers many things to do or you can opt to do nothing! The choice is always yours. You'll delight in the simplicity and you'll take home the refreshment and inspiration the mountains so generously give.
