Overview
As you awake in the “Sunrise Suite” in the main lodge at Cherokee Park Ranch, the morning sun streams through a sky-blue Columbine flower etched in stain glass. Each sleeping room in the 1886-built lodge and in every guest cabin along the north fork of the Cache La Poudre River contains an original stained glass art piece made by the ranch’s owner, Christine Prince. Each guest room and every cabin has a history, but all have been remodeled with Christine’s special western touches like quilts and refurbished antique dresses and furniture. Cherokee Park is western comfort with a touch of southern hospitality. It’s the Prince family’s personal touches that make a stay at their ranch so memorable.
Previous guests will tell you that Christine and her staff make sure everything is “just right” by helping you build a special bond with your horse for the entire week. It means sit-down family dining where all you have to do is show up with your hands scrubbed, ready to enjoy the varied and delicious fare. “Just right” means riding until you are ready for fishing, hiking, or a trip to a local rodeo.
Kids are king at Cherokee Park. Age appropriate counselors make each child’s stay memorable from panning for gold to creating something unique each day. Older kids have the run of the place including the heated pool, acres of climbable trees and miles of mountains to explore. Cool, Colorado nights and clear, Columbine-blue sky days blend together in this perfect mountain ranch retreat.
